Limoges Cat Boxes
Cat Limoges boxes get the animal right, which mostly means finding it asleep somewhere it should not be. These porcelain cats curl into slippers, settle on pink pillows, claim blue armchairs and peek out of green and blue trash cans. A white cat hides in a pink shoe, a kitten looks out of a shopping bag, and a tabby eats his lunch with great seriousness. The breeds show up in force. A white Persian bats a ball, a fluffy long haired cat poses, and a Siamese mother keeps her kitten close.
Black cats appear with a butterfly, on a toile chair and in a treat bag full of candy corn for Halloween. The fiddle playing cat from the nursery rhyme is here too, along with a cat dreaming of the mouse it did not catch. Each cat is Hand-Painted porcelain from Limoges, France, and opens on a small hinged lid with a metal clasp. Many hide a little surprise inside. Group them on a sunny windowsill where real cats would approve, or pick the one that looks most like the house tyrant for whoever feeds it.
