Patriotic and Fourth of July Limoges Boxes
Patriotic Limoges boxes fly the colors all year and come out in full force on the Fourth of July. Here you find the Statue of Liberty, bald eagles, Uncle Sam's top hat, the Stars and Stripes and the great buildings of Washington. The capital is well covered. The White House comes with a removable flag, the Capitol Dome with a Bill of Rights, and the Jefferson Memorial with a Declaration that lifts out. Monticello, the National Cathedral and a set of Washington monuments fill out the tour.
Money men will like the dollar bill with George Washington and the five with Lincoln. Bald eagles stand proud, one carrying a flag and one seizing its prey. Texans get the Lone Star flag, the Goliad flag, their own Capitol and the Alamo with cannons, and a Gadsden tread flag, a New York firefighter helmet, a camouflage Navy wingtip and an astronaut planting the flag on the moon honor those who served and explored. All of it is porcelain, shaped and painted by hand in Limoges, France, which seems fitting, since the French gave us Lady Liberty in the first place. Give one to a veteran, set an eagle on the desk, or line up flags on the mantel before the cookout.
