Graduation and careers Limoges boxes mark the diploma and the working life that follows it. The kitchen crew includes a chef's table with tools, a cookbook with a chef hat, a pig chef with a menu, and a French chef carrying a fish. Each is Hand-Painted porcelain from Limoges, France, closed with a hinged lid that can keep a class ring or a first business card. Hand the doctor bag to the new resident, the hard hat to the foreman who just made superintendent, and the cookbook to the culinary school graduate. A box on the office shelf says the work was noticed.
