Christmas Holly Egg with Oval Picture Frame Limoges

Christmas holly wraps around a porcelain egg that opens to an oval picture frame. This hand-painted Limoges box was made in Limoges, France, and it gives a favorite holiday photo a festive place of honor.

Deck the Frame With Holly

Holly, with its glossy leaves and red berries, has decorated homes at Christmastime for centuries. Here it is painted by hand around the shell, so the leaves and berries vary a little from one egg to the next.

Holiday Photos Worth Keeping

• A first Christmas photo of a new baby or grandbaby
• A family portrait from a holiday gathering
• A picture from a Christmas Eve wedding or engagement

Under the Mistletoe

Set it on a mantel among garland and candles, on a side table beside the tree or on a nightstand in a guest room during the holidays. It pairs well with other Christmas pieces such as drums, teddy bears and Santas. Many families bring it out each December with a new photo inside, turning it into a small yearly tradition. It also makes a heartfelt present for grandparents who love to see the family together.
