Rochard Heart Limoges Box with Ladybug on Top

A tiny ladybug has landed right on top of a porcelain heart, as if it chose the spot on purpose. This Rochard Limoges box was hand-painted in Limoges, France, and it joins a symbol of affection with an old token of good fortune.

Luck Lands on Love

In many gardens and old sayings, a ladybug that settles on you is a sign that good things are on the way. Rochard sets that idea on a heart, so the little beetle reads as a wish for luck in love. The heart shape makes up the body of the box, with the ladybug perched up top where everyone can see it.

A Wish Worth Giving

Hand it over on Valentine's Day, tuck it beside a card on an anniversary, or send it to a friend starting a new chapter who could use a little luck. It also suits a dressing table or a bedside shelf, where a small reminder of good wishes feels right. Many heart collectors like to keep one critter heart in the mix to break up a row of plain shapes, and this ladybug does that job well. It is the kind of piece people pick up, turn over in their hands and set back down with a smile.
