Rochard Heart Limoges Box with Yellow Butterfly
A sunny yellow butterfly settles on a heart in this small, hopeful piece. It is a Rochard design, painted by hand on porcelain in Limoges, France, a Limoges box that feels like the first warm day of spring.
Wings of Sunshine
The heart is one of the best-loved Limoges shapes, and the yellow butterfly keeps it light and cheerful instead of formal. Butterflies have long stood for change and new beginnings, which gives the piece meaning beyond its pretty colors. Each one is painted by hand, so the wings never look quite the same twice.
Fluttering Into a New Chapter
It makes a kind gesture for a friend recovering from an illness, a graduate stepping into a new life, or someone who has just moved. Mother's Day, a spring birthday and Easter are natural moments too. Many people also give a butterfly in remembrance, as a gentle sign of comfort.
