Porcelain Champagne Bottle Limoges Box
A bottle of champagne, chilled and ready for a toast, brings a little celebration to this porcelain piece. The bottle was hand-painted in Limoges, France, as a Limoges box made to sit on the bar rather than be uncorked.
Bubbles for Every Milestone
Champagne marks life's biggest moments: weddings, new years, promotions, and the first night in a new home. The bubbly comes from a region in northern France, which makes it a natural subject for a French porcelain box. Painting by hand gives each bottle subtle differences in color and shine.
From the Champagne Region to Limoges
Limoges has its own celebrated heritage. Porcelain making took off there after kaolin, the fine white clay, was found near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche in 1768, and the city's hard-paste porcelain is still fired at very high heat today.
