Father Time Rochard Porcelain Limoges Box

Bearded and wise, Father Time takes shape in this Rochard porcelain box. The old keeper of the years is modeled and painted by hand in Limoges, France.

The Keeper of the Hours

Father Time has appeared in art and storytelling for centuries, usually as an elderly man carrying the weight of passing years. He is the figure who hands the calendar over to the New Year baby every December 31st. Rochard gives him a place among its mythology pieces, and each box is painted by hand, so the details vary a little from one to the next.

Midnight Toasts and Milestones

• A Rochard design from the mythology group
• Belongs with New Year, clock or legend themed boxes
• A fitting present for a milestone birthday, a retirement or a New Year's Eve host

Where Time Stands Still

Place it on a mantel beside a clock, on a desk in a home office or on a bookcase near a family photo album. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a watchmaker, a clock collector or a historian who spends their days among the past.

For someone turning fifty, sixty or more, Father Time is a gently humorous way to mark the years. For a retiree, he is a reminder that time now belongs to them.
