Rochard Wrapped Package Tied in a Red Bow Limoges Box

A neatly wrapped package, tied up with a crisp red bow, waits to be opened. Rochard captures that happy moment of anticipation as a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, made in Limoges, France.

Bows and Bright Wishes

The package shape and its bow are porcelain, painted by hand so the ribbon pops against the wrapping. Unlike its paper cousins, this present never gets torn open, which makes it a fun little joke for anyone who loves the wrapping as much as what is inside. It works for nearly any celebration, from a birthday to a holiday morning.

A Long Tradition of Little Boxes

In 18th-century France, small porcelain boxes were carried for snuff, pills and beauty patches, and they quickly became tokens passed between friends. This package keeps that spirit of giving alive. Set it beneath a small tabletop tree in December, on a birthday table among the cards, or on a desk year-round as a cheerful reminder that every day can hold a small surprise.
