Blue Porcelain Egg Limoges Box with Roses

Roses bloom across a blue porcelain egg, their soft petals standing out against the cool background like flowers against a summer sky. The egg is hand-painted, made in Limoges, France, as a Limoges box.

Roses Under a Blue Sky

Blue and pink is a classic combination in French porcelain, prized since the days of the royal manufactories. Here the roses are painted by hand over the blue ground, giving the egg depth and a gentle, romantic feel.

The Egg Collector's Corner

This egg suits a spring display, an Easter morning table, or a blue and white bedroom where pastels feel at home. It is a lovely present for a mother on Mother's Day, a rose gardener, a bride, or a friend celebrating a birthday in June, the month of roses. Collectors of decorated eggs often like to set it beside eggs in pink, white and green for a soft, garden-like grouping.
