Rose Trellis Limoges Box in Light Blue Porcelain

Roses climb a garden trellis across this long light blue rectangle, as if a cottage wall in June had been captured in porcelain. Made in Limoges, France, the Limoges box was decorated entirely by hand.

Climbing Roses in June

Trellised roses are a classic of English and French cottage gardens, softening walls and arches with color. On a light blue ground they look fresh and airy, like blossoms against a summer sky. Each rose and lattice line is painted by hand in Limoges, so no two boxes match exactly.

The Rose Grower's Shelf

The long rectangle suits a mantel, a windowsill or a bookshelf where it can be seen end to end. It makes a thoughtful present for a rose grower, a garden club member, a June bride or anyone celebrating a twentieth anniversary. Beside a vase of fresh cut roses, the painted ones look right at home.
