Woman Resting on the Grass Porcelain Limoges Box
A peasant woman stretches out on the grass for a well earned rest in this calm country scene shaped in porcelain. The piece is a hand-painted Limoges box from Limoges, France, and it captures a quiet afternoon in the French countryside.
A Pause in the Meadow
Country life has been a favorite subject in French art for centuries, from painted fans to grand canvases. This box shrinks that tradition down to a single restful moment, with the figure lying back on the green.

Where Calm Belongs
A nightstand, a reading nook or a sunny farmhouse shelf all suit her restful mood. She makes a gentle present for someone heading into retirement, a friend who has just come home from Provence, or anyone who could use a reminder to slow down.
Figure boxes add a human touch to a shelf full of animals and flowers, and this one tells its little story without needing any words.
