Rochard Wild Boar Porcelain Limoges Box

A wild boar, the rugged creature of the French forest, takes shape in this Rochard piece. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, with plenty of woodland character.

Lord of the Oak Woods

The wild boar has roamed the forests of France for centuries and holds a proud place in European folklore, heraldry and hunting tradition. Tough, clever and independent, it is a very different animal from its barnyard cousin, and this piece honors that wild spirit.

Rochard in the Forest

Rochard is one of the best known names in modern Limoges boxes, known for lively animal subjects. A boar is a bold choice that stands out among the gentler creatures in many collections.
