Blue Wishing Well Porcelain Limoges Box

Toss in a coin and make a wish: this blue wishing well brings a bit of storybook magic to a shelf or windowsill. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, shaped and decorated in Limoges, France.

A Penny for Your Thoughts

Wishing wells turn up in old fairy tales and in country gardens alike, and this one carries both moods. The well itself forms the box, and blue is the leading color, giving the piece a calm, cottage garden feel. Hand painting means every well comes out a little different from its neighbor.

Where Wishes Come True

A wishing well is a natural choice for days built around hopes for the future. Give it at a wedding shower, a graduation, a new job or a fresh start in a new home. It also makes a sweet good luck token before a big exam, an audition or a move across the country.

Planting It in the Garden Collection

• Hand-painted porcelain made in Limoges, France
• Belongs in a garden, cottage or fairy tale grouping
• Pairs well with watering can, birdhouse and flower basket pieces

On a sunroom table or the sill of a kitchen window that looks out over the garden, the blue well picks up the colors of sky and water. Some owners like to slip a single coin inside for luck, a small ritual that suits the subject perfectly.
