Tea Time Limoges Boxes
Teapot Limoges boxes celebrate the four o'clock pause with spouts, handles and lids in porcelain small enough to fit in a saucer. There are French style pots, a dark green pot, a pink one and a purple one, each Hand-Painted in Limoges, France. The tea time theme runs well past the pot itself, through carts, chests, cups and picnic baskets.
Rochard sends a tea box holding three removable teas, a Kenya teapot, an Irish teapot and a lemon pot with a half lemon at its side. Maroon and light blue tea carts roll in beside a floral tea chest and a Darjeeling tea can. A white tea set painted with birds and a picnic basket with teacups could serve a whole afternoon. Plenty of these teapots refuse to behave like teapots. One is shaped like a banana, another like a corn husk, a snowman, a sewing machine and a teddy bear. A cow pot is labeled Lait, a birthday cake becomes a teapot, and a cat sits curled inside a yellow teacup. Arrange them on a tray beside the real kettle, or give one to the friend who keeps a tin of loose leaf in the office. A LOVE cup with a spoon and heart sugar cube suits an anniversary.
