Golf Limoges Boxes
Golf Limoges boxes bring the whole round indoors, from the bag on the cart to the ball sitting near the pin. Golf bags in plaid, orange, brown and deep green arrive stuffed with clubs, and Rochard makes one with six clubs that lift right out. Porcelain golf balls in white, yellow and lime green open to show a painted hole and flag.
The players themselves get their turn as well. A lady golfer lines up a putt, a fellow swings his driver, and one golfer cruises the fairway in an aqua cart. A mouse balances on a ball and a teddy bear takes a swing for the lighter side. Plaid caps, a green golf hat and a driver club head turned into a box fill out the bag. Each box is porcelain from Limoges, France, painted by hand and closed with a small metal clasp. Several Rochard golf balls open on a clock face or a tiny flag, so the surprise waits inside. A ball box with a flag inside marks a first hole in one far better than a scorecard. Set a golf bag on the desk of the weekend player, or give a lady golfer her own likeness after club championship week.
