Christmas Toy Shop Limoges boxes open the doors of Santa's workshop the night before the sleigh leaves. Toy soldiers stand at attention, rocking horses wait in white and holiday red, and a jester springs out of his jack in the box. Toy chests in blue and green overflow, one guarded by a soldier and another hiding a rocking toy.
Teddy bears run this shop. One rides Santa's reindeer sleigh, one reads a Christmas book, and several hold wrapped presents with paws that barely reach around them. Santa himself carries a teddy, hauls a bag of toys and drives a sleigh piled high. A Christmas drum holds toys and a letter to Santa, and a little caroler sings from a snowy drum. Nesting sets are the clever part. Old World Santas stack three and four deep, and snowmen and penguins tuck into each other like Russian dolls. A Christmas tree box opens on a small doll inside. All were Hand-Painted by brush in Limoges, France, with hinged lids and clasps. Set them under the tree as a porcelain toy shop, then move them to the mantel when the wrapping paper is gone.
