Teddy Bears and Toys Limoges Boxes
Teddy bear Limoges boxes bring back the toy chest of an earlier day, with plush bears, rocking horses and toy soldiers rendered in porcelain. Bears sit in wicker baskets, on blue and green chairs, on wooden blocks and tucked into bed. Each is Hand-Painted by artisans in Limoges, France, closed with a hinged lid and a little brass clasp.
These bears keep busy. One swings a golf club, another plays baseball for the USA, and a third wears a chef's hat. Bears ride a locomotive, pedal a bicycle built for two, pull a red wagon, pack a suitcase and beat a pink drum. A bedtime bear and a sleepy time Rochard bear wind down the day. December brings the most toys. Santa holds a teddy bear, his sleigh comes loaded with toys, and a reindeer sleigh carries a Santa bear. A Christmas toy chest holds a toy soldier, a blue toy box waits under the tree, and a sheriff rocking horse gallops nearby. A Noah's Ark with animals and a baby animals toy box suit a new arrival. Give a bear for a christening or a first birthday, or line up a few for the grandfather who still has his own.
