Cigar Lounge and Spirits Limoges Boxes
Cigar and spirits Limoges boxes belong in the room with the leather chair and the decanter. Here you find a Montecristo box, a Partagas cigar balanced on its ashtray, a tobacco pipe in its case, and a martini glass with olives. All of them are porcelain, shaped and painted by hand in Limoges, France.
The humidor side of the room runs deep. A Rochard cigar box opens to five loose cigars, a Cohiba ashtray holds one that will never burn down, and a Lancheros Habana box carries its label in careful brushwork. Pipe men get a smoking pipe resting on an oval, plus a pipe tucked in its own case. A single cigar with brass accents is about the size of the real thing, minus the ash on the carpet. On the spirits shelf sit a large Scotch whiskey bottle, a French cognac bottle, a silver cocktail shaker paired with a shot glass, and an Irish pub box holding four beer bottles. There is even a Corona cap with its lime. Each piece closes with a hinged lid and a metal clasp, and many carry a small surprise inside. Put one beside the decanter, hand one to the best man, or give the cigar box to the friend who still owns a cutter in his desk drawer.
