Panda Mother with Cub Limoges Box by Rochard

A panda mother and her small cub share the spotlight in this gentle porcelain portrait from the bamboo forests of China. It is a Rochard Limoges box, sculpted and hand-painted in Limoges, France.

Bamboo Forest Bond

Giant pandas raise their young alone, and a cub stays close to its mother for well over a year. Rochard caught that quiet companionship in one compact piece. Both animals are painted by hand, which gives each pair small differences in expression.

A Pair Worth Doubling Up

Panda fans often like to collect in twos, and this one arrives as a pair already. Place the box in a curio cabinet, on a bedroom bookshelf, or with other bear and wild animal figures. It is a sweet present for a new mother, a zoo member who never skips the panda habitat, or a friend returning from a trip to China. It also marks a birthday for anyone who has loved pandas since their first stuffed toy.
