Baby Girl Born in 2000 Limoges Porcelain Box

Marked for the year 2000, this baby girl Limoges box was made to celebrate a daughter born at the turn of the millennium. The figure was shaped and painted by hand in porcelain in Limoges, France.

Born at the Turn of the Century

Babies born in 2000 arrived during a year the whole world was watching, full of countdowns and fresh starts. A piece dated to that year ties the porcelain to one particular birthday and gives it a story that is easy to retell.

Milestones Since the Millennium

Though made for a new arrival, this box has grown up alongside the girls it was meant for. Today it suits a milestone birthday, a college graduation, an engagement or a wedding for a woman born that year, and it can sit beside her baby photos as a reminder of where it all started.

A Place in the Family Story

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits a baby, birth year or milestone collection
• Pairs with christening, rocking horse and first birthday pieces

Parents and grandparents often keep a birth year piece on a dresser or in a curio, then pass it along when the daughter has a home of her own. With the year marked right on it, there is never any doubt about which family chapter it belongs to.
