Basset Hound in a Basket Porcelain Limoges Box

A droopy eared Basset Hound has settled into a basket, looking every bit as comfortable as the breed always does. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, made in Limoges, France, celebrates one of the most lovable faces in the dog world.

Long Ears, Short Legs

Bassets are famous for their soulful eyes, long ears and easygoing nature, and this one wears that relaxed expression well. The coat is painted by hand, so markings vary a little from dog to dog, much like the real hounds themselves.

Nap Time in the Basket

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Belongs in a dog breed, hound or pet collection
• Pairs nicely with other dogs in baskets, beds and doghouses

Gifts From the Dog House

Any Basset owner will recognize their own hound in this pose, which makes it a heartfelt present for a birthday or a new puppy homecoming. It also makes a gentle remembrance for someone who has lost a beloved dog, set beside a framed photo or collar. A veterinarian, groomer or dog walker would appreciate it too. Display it on a mudroom shelf, a living room side table or a bookshelf where the family dog likes to nap nearby.
