Dalmatian Puppy and Cat in Basket Limoges Box

A spotted Dalmatian puppy shares a basket with a cat, an unlikely pair getting along just fine, with little trinkets to round out the scene. Painters in Limoges, France, finished this porcelain box by hand, spots and all.

Spots and Whiskers Together

Dogs and cats are supposed to be rivals, yet here they settle into the same basket without a fuss. The black spots of the puppy set off the cat beside it, and the pair makes a cheerful little story you can read at a glance from across the room.

A Basket Built for Two

• Dalmatian puppy and cat sharing one woven basket
• Belongs on a dog, cat or mixed pet shelf
• Sits well with firehouse, puppy and kitten pieces

For Every Two Pet Home

Households with both a dog and a cat will see themselves in this one right away. Set it near a framed pet photo, on a nightstand, or in a curio cabinet with other animal boxes. It also makes a warm present for a new pet adoption, a veterinarian, or a friend whose firehouse Dalmatian is part of the family. Each one is painted by hand, so the spots fall a little differently on every piece, a detail collectors of Dalmatian items tend to notice and enjoy comparing.
