Dog Resting in a Brown Basket Limoges Box

A dog lounges in a brown basket, settled in for a well-earned nap after a long morning of guarding the house. The whole scene was modeled in porcelain and brushed with color by hand in Limoges, France.

Basket Case, in the Best Way

Every dog owner knows the sight of a favorite pup claiming its bed, whether that bed is a proper basket or the laundry pile. This box captures that contented moment, with the basket framing the dog like a cozy nest.

Good Dog Display Ideas

Set it on a nightstand, a mudroom shelf beside the leash hooks, or a cabinet with other dog breeds and pet themed pieces. It also pairs naturally with a dog bowl, bone or doghouse box for a little canine corner. Because the subject is so relaxed, it works in a bedroom or reading nook where a calm piece feels right.

Treats for the Dog Person

• A sympathy present for someone remembering a beloved pet
• A housewarming nod for a family that just adopted a rescue
• A thank-you for a groomer, dog walker or veterinarian

Painted by hand in Limoges, the porcelain gives the scene a soft finish that suits a sleepy subject.
