Easter Chick in a Basket Hand-Painted Limoges Box

A baby chick has tucked itself into an Easter basket on this cheerful porcelain box, painted in the bright colors of early spring. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box was made in Limoges, France, where the basket and the little chick were each brushed on by hand.

Hatched Just in Time for Easter

The basket is the classic Easter morning symbol, and the chick inside turns it into a little story of new life. The subject reads clearly from across a room, which makes it a strong choice for a holiday table or entry console.

Filling the Spring Basket

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits an Easter, spring or baby bird collection
• Sits happily beside bunny, egg and lamb pieces

Peeping From the Sideboard

Bring it out with the pastel decorations in March and leave it on the sideboard through April. It is a sweet Easter basket addition for a grown-up, a spring birthday present, or a thank-you for the host of the family Easter brunch.

Collectors who rotate pieces with the seasons often keep this chick as the first sign that winter is over.
