Rochard Flower Cart Porcelain Limoges Box
A flower cart, piled high with blooms as if parked at a village market, rolls onto the shelf in this porcelain box. This Rochard Limoges box was shaped and brushed with color by hand in Limoges, France.
Market Day Blooms
Flower carts have brightened town squares across Europe for centuries, from the Provence markets to London's Covent Garden. Rochard captures that colorful scene in a small piece. The flowers and cart are brushed by hand, so each one has its own slight variations in color and shape.
Rolling Into Spring
Set it on a kitchen windowsill, a potting bench shelf, or an entry table where guests can admire it. It makes a cheerful present for a florist opening a new shop, a master gardener, a garden club hostess, or a mother on her day in May. It also suits a bride who carried a bouquet from a local flower market, or a friend who brings fresh flowers to every dinner party.
