Rochard Black Cat on a Toile Chair Limoges Box

A black cat has claimed a toile upholstered chair as its throne, just as any cat would. This little scene is a Rochard Limoges box, hand-painted on porcelain in Limoges, France.

The Best Seat in the House

Every cat owner knows the favorite armchair never really belongs to the people. Here the chair forms the box, with its classic toile pattern painted by hand, and the black cat makes itself at home on top. The pattern and the cat together give it the look of a French country parlor.

French Country Parlor

Set it on a side table, a reading nook shelf or a bedroom vanity. It is a charming birthday present for a black cat owner, a thank you for a cat sitter, or a fond remembrance of a much loved feline who always had the best spot in the room.

Cats and Cozy Corners

• A Rochard cat design, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• Fits a cat, furniture or French country collection
• Pairs with sofa, armchair, yarn ball and other cat boxes

Toile de Jouy, the printed fabric that inspired the chair's pattern, has roots in 18th-century France, which gives this piece a nice French touch to go with its Limoges making.
