A cat waits patiently beside a milk jug, clearly hoping someone will pour a saucer soon. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, made in Limoges, France, captures a gentle farmhouse scene full of quiet anticipation.

Waiting for the Pour

Barn cats and dairy jugs have kept each other company for centuries, and this little piece honors that friendship. The cat and the jug are painted by hand, so the fur and glaze tones differ slightly with every box.

Country Kitchen Corner

  • Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
  • A natural match for farmhouse, dairy and country kitchen themes
  • Joins cat with yarn, slipper and spilt milk pieces

For the Farmhouse Faithful

It makes a sweet present for a cat owner who lives in the country, a dairy farmer or a friend who decorates with ironstone pitchers and butter churns. Set it on a kitchen hutch, a pantry shelf or a windowsill above the farmhouse sink. Cat collectors will appreciate its calm, well mannered pose, a contrast to the more mischievous cats in their lineup and a restful note on any busy shelf.
