Rochard Cat and Milk Bottle Porcelain Limoges Box

A cat sits beside a bottle of milk, and there is no question who the milk is meant for. Rochard made this homey pairing as a porcelain figurine box, painted by hand at its workshop in Limoges, France.

Got Milk, Got Cat

The image of a cat lapping cream from the dairy goes back to old farmhouse kitchens, and it still makes cat owners smile. Here the cat and the milk bottle are shaped together, a simple scene with plenty of personality. Rochard brushwork is done one piece at a time, so each finished cat has its own small differences.

Farmhouse Kitchen Friends

Set it on a kitchen windowsill, a breakfast nook shelf or a hutch beside vintage milk bottles and pitchers. It is a cheerful present for a cat owner, a dairy farmer, a country kitchen decorator or anyone whose cat comes running at the sound of the fridge door. Cat collectors who already own a few elegant pieces often like having one that is simply fun.
