1990 Joyeux Noel Heart Shaped Limoges Box
Shaped as a heart and marked with the French greeting Joyeux Noel and the year 1990, this porcelain Limoges box joins love and Christmas in one small piece. It was hand-painted in Limoges, France, and that date gives it a clear place in any run of holiday boxes.
Merry Christmas, the French Way
Joyeux Noel simply means Merry Christmas, and seeing it written on a piece made in France feels just right. The heart outline softens the holiday message and turns it into something closer to a love note for the season.
Marking the Year 1990
- Painted by hand on porcelain in Limoges and dated 1990
- Fits a heart box, French Christmas or year marked collection
- A thoughtful pick for a couple married in 1990 or someone born that year
Small Box, Long Tradition
The fashion for little porcelain boxes began in 18th century France, when they held snuff, pills and the tiny beauty patches worn at court. Today a dated piece like this one is collected for its sentiment, and it fits neatly on a dresser, a mantel or a holiday tray. Collectors who chase year marked hearts often build a row of them, one season after another.
