Joyeux Noel Small Ball Shaped Limoges Box

Joyeux Noel, the cheerful French wish for a Merry Christmas, marks this small ball shaped porcelain box. It was hand-painted in Limoges, France, and its round form echoes the shape of a tree ornament.

Noel, French Style

In France, Christmas brings Midnight Mass, the reveillon feast and the yule log cake known as the buche de Noel. A box carrying the French greeting brings a little of that tradition to an American holiday home.

Baubles and Holiday Cheer

• Small ball shaped porcelain box painted by hand in Limoges, France
• Fits a French Christmas, ornament or ball shape collection
• Pairs well with the 1990 Joyeux Noel heart and Christmas bell

Under the Tree and Beyond

Tuck it among ornaments on a tree side table, set it on a mantel beside stockings, or place it in a bowl of greenery on the dining table. It makes a sweet present for a French speaking friend, a teacher of French, or anyone who spent a Christmas in Paris. Because it is small, it also fits easily into a holiday basket. When the decorations come down, it can rest with the rest of the Christmas pieces until next December.
