Halloween Trick or Treat Pail Limoges Box by Rochard

Trick or treat: this little pail wears a grinning jack o lantern face, ready for a night of door-to-door candy. This Rochard pail is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from the workshops of Limoges, France.

Fill It With Fright

The pail is porcelain throughout, shaped like a classic Halloween candy bucket and painted by hand with its carved pumpkin grin. Few images bring back October evenings as quickly as that cheerful carved face bobbing down the sidewalk. Rochard plays it straight here, a simple, recognizable seasonal subject done with care.

Porch Light Season

Haunting the Mantel

Bring it out on the first of October and set it on a mantel among small gourds, on an entry table by the candy bowl, or in a kitchen window. It suits a Halloween devotee, a costume party host, or a teacher who decorates the classroom every fall. Grouped with other seasonal boxes, it helps build a little Halloween vignette that grows a piece at a time each year.
