La Gloriette Yellow French Country Cottage with Trellis Limoges

A sunny yellow cottage with a garden trellis climbing its wall sits at the center of this porcelain piece, straight from a lane in the French countryside. It is a La Gloriette design, hand-painted as a Limoges box in Limoges, France.

A House in Provence

Yellow-washed walls, a trellis waiting for roses and the warm colors of a Provence farmhouse give this little house a welcoming air. It is the kind of place travelers picture when they dream of renting a cottage for a summer in the south of France.

Housewarming Wishes

A porcelain house is a classic present for new homeowners, and this one carries a cheerful message of good fortune under a new roof. It also suits a realtor's closing gift to clients, a retirement to the country, or a couple who finally bought their dream place.

Building a Village

• A La Gloriette piece, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• Fits a house, French country or village collection
• Grouped with other cottages, it forms a small street scene

Collectors of house boxes often arrange several along a shelf to create a miniature village, and the yellow walls of this one make it a natural anchor for the row. On a kitchen windowsill or a mantel, it brings a little Provencal sunshine indoors.
