Terrier in a Present Rochard Porcelain Limoges Box

Somebody could not wait for Christmas morning: a scrappy terrier has burst right out of a wrapped present. Rochard sculpted the surprise as a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, made in Limoges, France.

Pawprints Under the Tree

Dog and package are one sculpted scene, the terrier popping up from the wrapping as if it had been waiting all night. Anyone who has lived with a terrier will know the expression, bright, bold and a little mischievous. It is a holiday subject with a pet at its heart, which makes it easy to bring out every December.

Who Will Love It

• A Rochard design, painted by hand in France
• Fits a terrier, dog breed or Christmas collection
• Pairs with stocking, ornament and wreath boxes

A Mantel Full of Wags

Tuck it among the garland on a mantel, beside a nativity on a side table, or on a desk at the office for the season. It is a natural choice for a new puppy owner, a dog groomer, a veterinarian, or anyone whose terrier rules the house. The surprise of a dog jumping out of a present is one many families have actually lived, and that real-life memory makes this piece hard to resist.
