Grey Shih Tzu Dog Limoges Box by Rochard
A grey Shih Tzu with its long silky coat and sweet, flat little face sits ready for a pat on the head. Rochard shaped this dog as a porcelain Limoges box, and every bit of fur and feature was painted by hand in Limoges, France.
The Little Lion Dog
Shih Tzus were bred as palace companions in old China, and they still carry themselves like small royalty. The grey coat on this one is a less common color in the breed, so owners of silver and grey dogs finally get a match for their own pet. The painters work up the coat in layers, which gives each box its own soft shading.
Who Will Want It
A Shih Tzu owner, of course, but also a groomer who has trimmed a hundred topknots, a dog show handler, or a friend who just brought home a grey puppy. It is also a gentle way to remember a dog who has passed, kept on a nightstand or beside a framed photo.
