Yorkshire Terrier Dog Porcelain Limoges Box

Here is a Yorkshire Terrier modeled in porcelain, with the bright, confident look that makes the breed so easy to love. The little dog was shaped and painted by hand in Limoges, France, as a porcelain Limoges box.

Small Frame, Big Bravado

Ask any Yorkie owner and they will tell you their dog believes he is a much larger animal. That spirited attitude shows in this piece, with the coat and face painted by hand so the tones and details vary from box to box.

Companions on the Mantel

This box suits the family whose Yorkie rules the sofa, a breeder celebrating a new litter, or a veterinary nurse who has cared for more small dogs than she can count. It is a sweet remembrance for someone missing a departed pet, and a cheerful welcome for a new puppy in the house. If you already own the other Yorkie in this series, the two make a fine pair.

Small Boxes, Old Roots

Porcelain boxes grew fashionable in 18th-century France for snuff, pills and beauty patches. This one carries that tradition into any dog owner's den.
