Rochard Chinese Zodiac Year of the Snake 2025 Limoges Box

The snake takes center stage on this Rochard Limoges box, marking 2025 as the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac. It is hand-painted in Limoges, France, and celebrates one of the twelve animal signs of the lunar calendar.

Shedding the Old Year

In Chinese tradition the snake stands for wisdom, intuition and quiet elegance. Because a snake sheds its skin, the sign is also linked with renewal and fresh starts, a fitting theme for a new year. Rochard paints each piece individually, so the finished boxes vary slightly in color and detail.

Red Envelopes and Lantern Light

Set it out for Lunar New Year with red envelopes, tangerines and paper lanterns, then keep it on a desk or bookshelf the rest of the year. It makes a meaningful present for anyone born in a snake year, including 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001 and 2013, or for a baby born in 2025. Collectors who gather one zodiac animal each year will want it to keep their set complete. It also suits a friend who follows astrology or a family that celebrates the lunar new year together each winter.
