Oriental Style Chest Porcelain Limoges Box

Painted in an Oriental style, this small porcelain chest brings the look of an Asian lacquered trunk to a curio shelf. It is a hand-painted Limoges box made in Limoges, France, in the form of a miniature piece of furniture.

Treasures of the Silk Road

Decorated chests from China and Japan were prized in European homes for centuries, and French porcelain makers often borrowed their motifs. This little trunk continues that long love of Eastern design, giving a classic furniture shape an exotic flair.
