Horse at a Fence Rochard Limoges Box

A horse waits patiently at the paddock rail, the kind of quiet moment every rider knows from a morning at the barn. Rochard has caught it in hand-painted porcelain as a Limoges box, made in Limoges, France.

Waiting at the Paddock Gate

The horse and fence are sculpted as one scene, so the piece reads like a small country landscape. There is something calm in the pose, an animal at ease in its own field. It suits riders, but also anyone who grew up near farms and remembers horses leaning over a fence for a carrot.

Stable Companions

• A Rochard design, painted by hand in Limoges
• Fits an equestrian, riding or farm collection
• Pairs with saddle, riding boot and barn pieces

Fired in the Heart of France

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high temperatures, which gives it its bright white body before painting begins. Set this one on a mantel, a tack room shelf or a desk in a farm office. It makes a thoughtful remembrance for a first riding lesson, a show ribbon, or a horse that has retired to pasture after many years of service.
