Rooster and Hen Pair Porcelain Limoges Box

A rooster and a hen keep close company on this porcelain box, a farmyard pair that has seen many sunrises together. The couple is a Limoges box, crafted in Limoges, France, and painted by hand from comb to tail feather.

Rulers of the Barnyard

The rooster, or le coq, is a national symbol of France, seen on church steeples, sports jerseys and country kitchen pottery. Pairing him with a hen gives this design a warm, domestic feeling, the picture of a well-kept farmyard.

The Henhouse Shelf

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Pairs with chick, egg basket, barn and cow pieces
• Fits a farm, country kitchen or French rooster collection

Farmhouse Celebrations

This is a natural present for a couple marking a long anniversary, a family that keeps backyard chickens, or someone who has decorated the kitchen in French country style. It also suits a farm wedding, a housewarming in the countryside, or a thank-you to the neighbor who shares fresh eggs. Set it on a kitchen hutch, a windowsill above the sink, or a shelf among rooster pitchers and toile dishes.
