Seahorse on Beach Chair Limoges Box
A seahorse has claimed a beach chair for the afternoon, as if even sea creatures need a day off. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box was made in Limoges, France, with the chair forming the body and the seahorse settled into it.
A Seahorse on Holiday
The joke is easy to like: an animal that lives in the waves has come ashore to relax like everyone else. Seahorses have long been a favorite in coastal decor because of their unusual shape, and placing one in a lounge chair gives it a playful personality. Each box is decorated by hand, so details vary slightly from piece to piece.

Where the Sea Air Reaches
It fits on a bathroom shelf, a guest room dresser in a beach cottage, or a coastal mantel among shells gathered on morning walks. Give it to a scuba diver, an aquarium volunteer, or a friend heading off on a long awaited seaside vacation. Collectors who keep a sea life shelf often like a piece with a sense of humor, and this one supplies it.
