Porcelain Goldfish Bowl Limoges Box
A goldfish circles inside its round bowl on this porcelain box, a scene that brings back carnival prizes and the first pet many people ever had. It is a hand-painted Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it is porcelain throughout, bowl and fish alike.
Round and Round the Bowl
The bowl shape forms the body of the box, with the goldfish painted within it. A goldfish in a watery round shape makes an easy, happy subject, and it reads instantly even from a few feet away. This is a keepsake for the shelf, not a home for a live fish.
Fins, Bubbles and Friends
- Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
- Belongs with fish, pet and aquarium pieces
- Looks good next to cat, tropical fish or seashell boxes
A Pet Without the Feeding Schedule
This goldfish bowl suits a desk at the office, a windowsill above the sink or a bookshelf in a reading nook. It is a fun present for a new homeowner, a pet lover who misses an old companion, or a teacher retiring after years of classroom fish. People who once named a goldfish something grand like Captain or Duchess usually get the joke right away.
It is the one goldfish that will never need its water changed.
