Orange Fish Porcelain Limoges Box

A bright orange fish swims across the shelf in this porcelain Limoges box, as cheerful as a goldfish in a sunny bowl. It was hand-painted in Limoges, France, as a figural sea life piece.

Something Fishy in Limoges

Fish have long stood for abundance and good luck in many cultures, and orange fish in particular are linked with prosperity. That makes this little swimmer a cheerful symbol as well as a lively piece of decor.

Gifts for Anglers and Aquarists

Give it to an angler who still talks about the one that got away, a home aquarium hobbyist, or a friend with a beach house. It also makes a fun good luck token for a new business or a new home. Set it on a bathroom shelf beside seashells, a lake house mantel or a sunny kitchen windowsill. Its bright color lifts any corner it lands in.
