Red Rectangle Limoges Box with Painted Flowers

Painted flowers bloom across a bold red ground on this small rectangular box, a warm and confident take on the floral Limoges design. It is hand-painted porcelain made in Limoges, France, and it is impossible to overlook.

Red as a Valentine

Red is the color of passion, celebration and good luck, and it gives this box an energy most florals lack. The flowers keep it feminine and pretty, while the deep ground makes the design stand out from across a room. It is a piece with real personality.

Making a Statement

• Painted by hand on French porcelain in Limoges
• Fits a floral, red-themed or holiday collection
• Adds a strong accent to a shelf of pastel or white pieces

Bright Red Moments

Give it on Valentine's Day, a ruby anniversary, a July birthday or as a Christmas surprise for someone who loves red. It suits a bold dresser top, a holiday mantel or a desk that needs a burst of color. Set beside the red hanging ornament in December, it fits right into a festive grouping, and the rest of the year it adds warmth wherever it lands.

Color on Hard White Porcelain

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste and fired at very high heat, giving painters a smooth white surface that lets a strong color like this red stay rich and even.
