Green Square Limoges Box with Orange Flower

A square box in garden green carries a single orange flower, as bright as a marigold in a summer border. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, compact and cheerful in equal measure.

Marigold on the Lawn

Green and orange are complementary colors, so each makes the other look more vivid. The square shape gives the flower a neat frame, like a tile in a French country kitchen. The bloom is painted by hand in Limoges, so its petals and shading differ slightly on every box.

Desk Drawer to Windowsill

Its compact square form fits neatly on a desk, a kitchen windowsill or a bathroom shelf where space is tight. A single bright bloom keeps it easy to place in almost any room.
