Hexagonal Blue Limoges Box with Orange Flower
A bold orange flower stands out against blue on this six-sided porcelain box, a striking pairing of complementary colors. The bloom was painted by hand in Limoges, France, on a Limoges box.
Six Sides, One Bloom
Hexagonal boxes have a crisp, architectural look, and each flat side catches the light a little differently. Placing a single orange flower against blue makes the design pop, since the two colors sit opposite each other on the color wheel. Hand painting means each flower has its own small variations.
Geometry in the Garden

Bright Ideas for Giving
This makes a lively present for someone with modern taste, a fan of mid-century design, or a friend whose favorite colors are blue and orange. It also suits a sports fan whose team wears these colors, a summer birthday, or a housewarming for a bright, colorful home.
Set it on a coffee table, a bookshelf, or a desk where its shape and color can be appreciated. Collectors who prefer variety in shape often seek out hexagons to break up a shelf of rounds and ovals. Each hand-painted piece carries its own personality.
