Hexagon Limoges Box with Flower Basket

Six sides frame a basket overflowing with flowers, painted in warm orange tones like a late summer garden. The hexagon box was painted by hand on porcelain in Limoges, France, as a Limoges box.

A Basket Gathered at Dawn

A flower basket is one of the oldest motifs in decorative painting, a symbol of abundance and welcome. Set on a six sided box, it gains a classic, almost architectural frame that suits traditional rooms and antique furniture.

Six Sides of Blooms

• Hexagon shape with a flower basket design
• Warm orange tones throughout
• Fits a floral, garden or classic shapes collection

A Bouquet for the Sideboard

This is a lovely present for a gardener, a florist, a host who always has fresh flowers on the table, or a friend celebrating an autumn birthday. Set it on a sideboard beside a vase, on a dresser near a jewelry tray, or in a curio cabinet among other floral pieces. The geometric shape stands out nicely among round and oval boxes. Every basket is painted by hand, so the blossoms vary a little from one box to the next.

Painted by Hand After Firing

Limoges is famous for hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high heat until it turns hard and white. Only then do painters add the color, one brushstroke at a time.
