Pink and Green Floral Rectangular Limoges Box

Pink blossoms and green leaves wrap this rectangular box like a spring border in a cottage garden. The flowers were brushed on by hand at a Limoges workshop in France, on a box of fine porcelain.

A Cottage Garden Border

Pink and green is one of the oldest and friendliest color pairings in floral painting, the shades of a rose bed in June. The neat rectangular shape gives the pattern a clean frame, so it looks tidy and classic on any surface.

Vanity and Writing Desk

Set it on a dressing table beside a hand mirror, on a writing desk next to the stationery, or on a bedside table with a favorite novel. It makes a gracious present for a mother, a garden club friend, a bridesmaid or a retiring colleague, and it suits a housewarming for a home done in soft colors.

The Floral Box Collection

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits a floral, rectangular or pink themed collection
• Pairs with the pink flower with bee and other floral boxes

Rectangular boxes are among the earliest Limoges forms, a nod to the snuff and patch boxes that were carried in 18th-century France. A floral pattern on that classic shape keeps the old look alive in a fresh way.
