Pink Flowers Egg Shaped Porcelain Limoges Box

Pink flowers bloom over this porcelain egg, a classic Limoges form decorated in the colors of early spring. It is a hand-painted Limoges box, its flowers brushed on by hand in Limoges, France.

An Egg in Full Bloom

Eggs stand for fresh starts, and flowers for growth, so the two make a fitting pair. The rounded shape lets the painted blossoms wrap all the way around, so there is something pretty to see from every side of the shelf.

Easter Morning Displays

Nest it in a basket with a few other eggs on the breakfast table, or line it up on a windowsill with eggs in blue, yellow and green. Collectors who rotate their displays by season often bring this one out in March and keep it on show through May.

Spring Celebrations

• An Easter present for a mother, aunt or godmother
• A birthday surprise for someone born in spring
• A baby shower memento for a little girl on the way

Porcelain eggs have long been collected in sets, and this pink floral version is an easy one to fall for. Hand-painted in Limoges, France, it brings a garden's worth of color to a small space.
