Rochard Heart Shaped Limoges Box with Tulips

Tulips bloom across a heart in this Rochard Limoges box, pairing a favorite spring flower with a shape that speaks of affection, all of it brushed by hand onto porcelain in Limoges, France.

Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Tulips are the cheerful heralds of spring, the first bright cups of color after a long winter. Set on a heart, they turn a seasonal subject into something more personal. Because the brushwork is done by hand, the petals and colors differ a little from one box to the next.

A Bouquet That Never Wilts

• A Rochard design, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• Fits a heart box, tulip or spring flower collection
• Pairs well with watering can, garden hat and bird nest pieces

When the Bulbs Come Up

Bring it out in March when the garden starts to stir, and let it stay on a windowsill or bedside table through May. It is a sweet choice for Mother's Day, Easter, Valentine's Day, or a thank-you for a friend from the garden club. Gardeners who plant hundreds of bulbs every fall will especially appreciate a bloom that lasts all year long.

Painted on a White Canvas

Like many Limoges boxes, pieces of this kind are painted by hand after the white porcelain has been fired, and their metal mounts are set by hand too.
